A regular School day started with a big surprise for three CHS students when they were driven to School by Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw and The 1975 band member Matty Healy.
As part of BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show‘s ‘School Run’ video series where students are challenged to put taxing questions to musical celebrity guests on the way to school, Year 10 students Eleri, Holly and Harrison were given chance to interview their musical idol Matty.
Eleri, who had attended the band’s concert the day before, said: “It was a huge surprise, our School told us we were going on a Wellbeing trip so we wondered what was going on when Nick Grimshaw showed up!”
She continued: “It was nice to get to know Matty; we talked about school in general, his childhood, sexuality and all sorts of other things. I really enjoyed it. It was the talk of the School!”
Their friends were also given a shock when the singer and DJ dropped the students off for one of their weekly science lessons with Mr Chippendale.
The morning’s event was discussed by Nick Grimshaw on his morning radio show. Check out the students’ interviewing skills in action via Youtube here.
